The Local Area
Loubillé and Premorin are ideally located to explore Poitou- Charentes and the coast.  The region boasts more hours of sunshine than almost anywhere else in France.  You will find gentle, winding roads around the sunflowers and vineyards.  Being a relatively flat region with very little traffic, it is ideal for gentle cycle rides or walks.
Poitiers, Angoulême, Cognac, Saint Jean-d’Angely and Saintes are all within an hours drive.
La Rochelle, Fouras and Châtelaillon Plage are within 90 minutes drive.  You will find lovely beaches, restaurants activities and, in La Rochelle, the Aquarium, bike hire and a lively Summer entertainment festival.
Futuroscope, just north of Poitiers, is a very popular technology based theme park offering something for everyone.
Néré with its bars, bistro and small supermarket is 12km away. The lively town of St Jean-d'Angely is 30 mins away with its large Saturday market specialising in fresh fish.  There are also numerous restaurants, boutiques and pavement cafés.
Loubillé has a bar with restaurant and small shop attached.  Like many restaurants in the area, the bar offers a three course lunchtime menu with drinks for just 10.50€.  The bar backs onto the village green with childrens play area, petanque court and ping-pong table.  Nearby, in Chef-Boutonne there are 2 supermarkets, one of which is open on Sundays.
There is a lake nearby with a beach and safe swimming area.  At Ruffec there is a popular leisure area on the river Charente with beaches, play area and café.  It is possible to hire canoes from here in the Summer.
